My younger brother studies at the University of West England, Bristol. He lives in a vibrant city and gives me a headache every now and then 🙂 I guess it comes with being the eldest in the family. Since he lives there and I reside in London, I frequently visit him with my wife to check and maintain my brotherly duties, more like older brotherly duties. So, there is a chance that you will see me writing about this beautiful city, Bristol, and its culture.
One thing I noticed while visiting my brother was the street art this city has to offer. Bristol’s reputation for being a cornerstone of street art is very well known across the world. A lot of renowned street artists have drawn on the streets of Bristol. My personal favorite is the infamous Banksy. I will need to write an entire blog on Banksy to introduce him to you guys. Capturing all the phenomenal masterpieces is going to be a very difficult and daunting process as new pieces are popping up at every alleyways in Bristol.
Temple Meads Station is a very well-known place in the city. If you come out of the station, you will be greeted by graffiti of a woman with butterfly wings. Sorry, I’m very bad at giving descriptions of paintings, I know. But go to the place, and you will see for yourself how gorgeous the artwork is!
ART EVERYWHERE YOU SEE!
A walk along the Bristol Harbourside will greet you with Banksy’s original artwork of Grim Reaper and the Girl with a Pierced Eardrum.
Apart from this, along the city, you can see the artwork done during Upfest, the largest street art festival in Europe.
These artists are truly talented, and without seeing their work face-to-face, you cannot just fathom how good they are. I wonder what Picasso and Van Gogh would have said if they were alive and saw the paintings on the wall!
I wrote a very short blog and will write a longer one on street art in due course. I just wanted to share my thoughts on the street art with you. Till next time 😀
