ENGLAND ON A BUDGET, PART 1

British Museum, on a rainy day!

England has plenty to attract people from all over the world. From historic architecture to the quaint villages, it offers a range of attractions to the people visiting. The rich history and the ever changing weather, England has it all. In short, England has plenty to keep any tourist entertained, as long as they know what they are looking for. It offers a little bit of everything, but one thing that is quite daunting to any traveller coming to England is the price, especially with the cost of living crisis going on in England at the moment. The food and accommodation can be quite expensive for any tourist whose main plan is to look at and enjoy the beautiful landscape.

This is my first ever blog post, so I am going to keep it quite simple and easy and touch on the main things that you, my fellow travellers, can do on a budget in England. I will provide a longer post with more details in the upcoming blogs. (Yup! Like a series. 😋) Stay tuned with me for the ride, trust me it’s going to be epic!

If you are into museums, natural heritage, and parks, good news for you! Because most of them are free! The iconic British Museum is free, and it is filled with the largest collections of artefacts from all over the world. The entire museum is filled with arts and culture and can easily keep someone entertained for months. On top of that, there are exhibitions going on about something all around the year, and if you are lucky, you can find an exhibition that you like.

Apart from the great British Museum, you can also roam around the National Gallery and Victoria & Albert Museum. I know, it is getting too indoor-y right? If you are a person who loves the outside, the nature and fresh air (like my wife!) there are things for you to see as well. Take a stroll around Hyde Park, trust me it’s worth it! This is the park where England’s first Pride March began and where Nelson Mandela took the stage! Also it’s called the People’s Park. The winding paths, the rose garden to winter wonderlands during Christmas—this park will not disappoint you at all. At the very heart of the park you will see the serpentine, wildlife (you’ll love the herons, trust me), cafes looking towards the lake. It’s really wonderful.

To keep it short, in this blog I just gave you a small glimpse of things you can expect in England when you are on a budget trip. In the coming blogs, I will take you through the intricate and historically rich landscape of this beautiful country. All of the above locations I just mentioned are in London. I will probably have to write hundreds of blogs just to cover everything that you can do on a budget in this magnificent city. But hey, if you are a travel and a reading junkie like, you will enjoy it.
